As readers fretting along with us at home have read here, we expected that at day thirty-five (day forty-two at the latest) since hiving the original package bees would all (except possibly the queen) be dead. If no new bees being born then our hives would again be empty.

Today is day thirty-seven, we still have a large population in each hive, and we saw orientation flights, new bees getting a fix on the location of their home.

We are hopeful.
